• He received his Ph.D. in regional and city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1965
• The first dean of the College of Regional and Urban Planning since 1977 and continued until 1991

Academic Contributions

• Contributing to the establishment of the College of Regional and Urban Planning at Cairo University, and assuming its deanship from 1979 until October 1999. He introduced the science of “Urban Design” in Egypt and began teaching it at Cairo University in 1965. Departments of architecture and planning in Egyptian universities, supervised nearly 108 university theses since 1975 until now between PhD and MA or participated in their arbitration, participated and contributed to the organization of nearly 30 national and international conferences
• Received a doctorate in town and regional planning from the United States of America in 1965
• Participated in teaching planning sciences and urban design at Cairo University and several Egyptian and Arab universities, and contributed to graduation
• He participated in the teaching of urban planning and design sciences at Cairo University and several Egyptian and Arab universities and contributed to the graduation of generations of engineers and urban planners in the past four decades

• Regional planning for North Sinai and the northwestern coast Wadi al Hayaa District in Libya, and I also did urban planning for the cities of Zagazig, Damanhur, Kafr El Dawar, Sohag, Ikhmim and Suwayya, and a number of new cities such as the 10th of Ramadan city and the new city of Burj Al Arab.

• Headed and participated in the joint research team between Cairo University professors and international universities such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of RUTGERS in the United States, and the French Research Institute ORSTOM from 1983 until now.
